Accessibility statement for Above the Bar

We want everyone who visits the Above the Bar (ATB) website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

ATB is an equal opportunity employer and works with employers to place attorneys candidates in fulfilling, rewarding careers in a manner that complies with all state and federal guidelines and applicable laws.

What are we doing?

To help us make the ATB website a positive experience for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user-friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the ATB website.

Our ADA audits are on-going, and we welcome feedback to improve usability for all

Use of the interactive process to reasonably accommodate disabled individuals

ATB is committed to equal opportunity for all job applicants and employees.  In keeping with this policy, it does not engage in impermissible discrimination based on any protected characteristic, including an individual’s disability. ATB will also make reasonable accommodations to comply with state and federal disability discrimination laws.  ATB will make reasonable accommodations for the known physical or mental disability or known medical condition of an applicant or employee, consistent with its legal obligations to do so.

As part of its commitment to making reasonable accommodations, ATB also wishes to participate in a timely, good faith, interactive process with the disabled applicant or employee to determine effective reasonable accommodations, if any, that can be made in response to a request for accommodations.  Applicants and employees are invited to identify reasonable accommodations that can be made to assist them to perform the essential functions of the position they seek.  By working together, the ATB hopes to implement any reasonable accommodations that are appropriate and consistent with its legal obligations.

If you require a reasonable accommodation in completing our registration materials, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employee selection process, please contact our office via phone or email.

How are we doing?

We’ve worked hard on the ATB website and believe we’ve achieved our goal of Level AA accessibility. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this, but if you do find any problems, please get in touch.

Live chat interviews will be made available upon request as an alternative to TTY.
